Artengine is a non-profit artist-run production and presentation center located in Ottawa's Arts Court. A respected leader in new media art development in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, Artengine is dedicated to new practices in art and technology, with a mission to enable, inspire, and support the creation and exhibition of new work.
Through a variety of innovative approaches to programming, Artengine has made an important contribution to the city over the years. We commissioned and produced original projects by local and (inter)national new media artists; led critical conversations across creative disciplines about digital making, artificial intelligence and the future of the city; and developed a variety of festival events including We Make The City!, Electric Fields and Maker Faire Ottawa.
With the breakneck pace of technological advances, culture is changing and changing fast. Artengine has been riding the crest of this wave for almost twenty years, and now as a key partner in the Arts Court Redevelopment project, we are very excited to open a new and unique cultural space for making, showing and talking about art and technology.
We are seeking volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors which meets bimonthly and provides governance direction and support for this new phase of growth and development. We are accepting applications for spring 2018 for a 3 year term. Ideal candidates have a demonstrated experience in art and technology, industrial design, contemporary art, architecture, gaming and social entrepreneurship, and/or professional experience in marketing, fundraising and change management.
Artengine is dedicated to creating a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of the community in which we live and make. We encourage applications from all potential candidates.
Please send your inquiry (letter and CV) to the Board Chair, Diana Cantu, firstname.lastname@example.org.
